Welcome to STBBC Youth!!!

At STBBC Youth we believe following Jesus should be filled with joy and wonder. That is why our theme for the coming academic year is Joy & Wonder, a chance for us to discover together the excitement of life with God.

We want every young person who comes along to feel welcomed, valued and included. Everything we do places young people at the centre, helping you explore who God is, grow in faith and use the unique gifts He has given you.

From weekly gatherings to big events, there are plenty of opportunities for 11–18s to make friends, deepen faith and have loads of fun along the way.

If you have any questions please check the contact details at the bottom of the page.

Sunday Mornings

Each Sunday we open up a Bible story or theme and explore it over a few weeks, finding joy and wonder in what God is saying and how it speaks into our everyday lives.

Chill out

Football, Volleyball, Quick cricket, dodgeball, card games, board games, arts and crafts and so much more… What more could you want?! Chill out runs every Sunday, even in the holidays!

COLLECTIVE

COLLECTIVE is our BRAND NEW event for children from Reception to Year 6 and young people from Year 7 to 13.

God has created us to be unique with our own set of gifts. At COLLECTIVE we’ll adventurously, creatively & collaboratively learn new skills every week.

Some weeks we’ll be cooking up a storm in the kitchen, others we’ll be putting on our finest costumes and filming a movie.

Find out more about COLLECTIVE here.

We run lots of one-off events including sleepovers and summer camps (Satellites) and joint youth events with other local churches.

  • Sleepovers - In February and October we run sleepovers filled with worship & games while buidling friendships over a 3 day weekend

  • Satellites - Each year we venture of to Satellites, a christian youth festival focused empowering young people to building relationships with Jesus that are sustained all year round.

  • NYWM - In November we’re heading to the National Youth Ministry Weekend, an amazing chance to grow in faith together and experience the joy and wonder of being part of the wider church.

  • CAMP COLLECTIVE - Something new is coming in May… Camp Collective is on the horizon, but that’s all we can say for now - keep your eyes peeled for the big reveal.

Year 6s

From January each year we open up STBBC Youth to those in Year 6, giving you the chance to get stuck into everything we do. It’s a great way to settle in, make friends, and experience the joy and wonder of being part of the youth family before starting secondary school.

Shoeburyness High School

We are blessed to have a strong and long-lasting relationship with Shoeburyness High School. Our presence at the school has looked different over the many years, but most recently our Youth Worker runs multiple Arts & Wellbeing courses for young people struggling with their mental health.

Youth Mental Health Support Worker (Tool Box Youth Therapy)

In 2021, our Youth Worker sat down with the youth group to hear directly from them around there biggest concerns at that point in time. We heard a group of young people deeply concerned around the mental health crisis, both those who felt they were unwell, and therefore worried around how they would access support, and those who are well, and their worry for their peers.

Following these conversations with the young people, we applied and subsequently received funding to hire a Youth Mental Health Support Worker. Our Youth Mental Health Support Worker, who is a trained therapist, runs Tool Box Youth Therapy, a free therapy service for young people and young adults aged 11-25. Over 20 young people have now accessed this service and received therapy who would have otherwise faced waiting lists over 6 months long.
